I built the
practice. Then I
lost the income.

Everything I do now comes from working out why that happened, and finding out it was never only me.

i.The short version

What happened

I spent years building an appointment-based practice I loved. I was good at it and I was busy, and I took busy to mean safe. That is what the whole industry teaches you to believe. A full diary looks like proof that everything is working.

Then an injury forced me to stop, and the income was gone within a week. Not reduced. Gone. Because it had only ever existed while my hands were moving, and nobody had ever said that part out loud to me.

Being fully booked felt like security. It was actually exposure. I could not see the difference from inside it.

What I found afterwards was the part that changed my work. It was not a personal failure and it was not poor planning. It was structural. Appointment-based income is fragile by design, and almost every practitioner I have spoken to since is standing in some version of the same place without knowing it has a name.

ii.Why I do this

I wanted the tool I
did not have

When it happened to me, I did what everyone does. I read everything, bought a course, followed advice built for businesses nothing like mine, and worked harder at the parts I was already good at. None of it helped, because none of it started by asking what was actually wrong.

That is the gap I care about. Practitioners are not short on effort or information. They are short on diagnosis. Almost everyone I speak to is solving a real problem beautifully, and it is the wrong problem for their business.

So I stopped calling myself a burnout educator. What I actually do is help you find out which problem you have before you spend another year on the wrong one.

I am not here to motivate you. I am here to tell you what is actually wrong.

iii.How I work

Same symptom.
Different disease.

A spiral drawn in wet sand

Two practitioners describe the same exhaustion and need opposite things. This is the first thing I look at with anyone, and it is why generic advice keeps failing people. Choose whichever sounds more like you.

What I usually find

You are being read as interchangeable, so people choose on price and proximity.

This is rarely a visibility problem. Most practitioners in this position are visible enough and simply not described clearly enough to be chosen. More posting does not move it. Clearer language does. But the fix for being unclear and the fix for being unseen are different fixes, which is exactly why guessing is expensive.

What I usually find

Your income is capped by a body with a finite number of hours in it.

This one is structural. You did not build it wrong. You built the model the whole industry teaches, and it works right up until it does not. There is a version of this that keeps the work you love in it. Which version depends on what your practice can actually carry right now, and that is a different answer for everyone.

If you would rather just talk it through, I keep a few calls open each week. Book one here.
